Bedok-style Bak Chor Mee, well known from the stalls at Fengshan Food Centre, is the thick soup version of Bak Chor Mee that is different from others. I personally prefer this over dry BCM but find it not that easy to see one outside east area. We happened to come across two of them in downtown area and here is the comparison in our opinion.
Soon Heng is located near Outram Park MRT station. We ordered the large ($5.50) which comes with a few wantons, minced meat and meatballs. Nonetheless, the broth is pretty flavorful and subtly sweet.

You can try out Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee without having to travel all the way to the East cos it has opened an outlet at Hawker Street Ion Orchard. This is the signature bowl ($5.50) which comes with plump wantons and firm meatballs. Toss some chili padi into the soup for some heat and it will transform into a pretty shiok bowl of noodles. Compared to Soon Heng, the broth was not as thick and it comes with coriander. Not sure if there was quality difference from the original hawker.
Taste wise, we would prefer Soon Heng's broth more as it was more flavorful. But if you are looking for a more comfortable aircon dining space, you may go to Famous Eunos @ ION Orchard.
